And who wouldn’t?! Even with shitty reality TV editing, Rich won the hearts of millions in the first episode of Why Am I Still Single?

Best part is we don’t even know who started the thing. It’s like someone invisible spoon-feeding us magic. Into our mouths.

The Jackal and I were making dinner with Danny last night, who asked if we’d ever seen Helvetica. We answered “oh yeah totally, great little doc film” just like any self-respecting 20-something artists should. Then Danny mentioned he shot portraits of the director earlier that day, to which I casually replied “oh, was that for the Times?” while slowly stirring some simmering risotto.

Uh, I’m sorry, when did it become commonplace that Danny Ghitis is a photographer for the New York Times?? Is this subject really only worthy of casual dinner conversation?

The answers are this past summer, and no, it’s worthy of much more than that. Not that any of us are surprised he’s shooting there (have you seen his work?) but I still get a boner every time I see “Danny Ghitis for the New York Times” in a barely-readable font size under photos on the site.  Shwing!

Insider tip: Danny shot a story about gay marriage, which featured Eliot Glazer aka creator of the My Parents Were Awesome tumblr aka brother of our friend Ilana Glazer of Broad City. Aaaaand, I officially overdid it with the hyperlinks.

The opening party is Saturday, October 29th from 6pm to midnight, but the work will be up through November 6th. I’m simultaneously timely and way late on posting this, but our champion DP Eric Phillips-Horst and his equally talented collective Meerkat Media shot this awesome mini-doc about Occupy Wall Street, and the video is blowin’ up. It’s featured in The Atlantic today, and has already accrued almost 6,000 views in a short 4 days since it was posted.

In addition to beautiful camera work, this video perfectly captures the communication system and community of Occupy Wall Street in New York. Watch, learn, and spread the movement. Godspeed.

Tune in and and turn up as host and fake name connoisseur Siggy Flicker talks openly about faking orgasms with her ex-husband within the first, like, 30 seconds of the show. Awesome. And if that’s not enough for you, her crew of “love-pickers,” who each have at least 2 y’s in their first name, will undoubtedly throw you over the edge. This show is definitely trashy enough to encourage drinking, so I’m gonna go ahead and take a shot each time Siggy says the word “bologna” and Rich raises one of his eyebrows.

Big, big ups to Celia, who shot these amazing portraits of us in our RenFair garb. Goddamn if that woman didn’t make me look like an oldest, nastiest hag this side of the East River. But I’ll forgive her for shooting one of the best pictures of Matt Cook ever taken. Keep tabs on her blog for more photo goodies to come.

Remember in grade school when you learned how to spell the word embarrassed? Your teacher came up with THE COOLEST THING EVER to help you remember that the word has 2 R’s and 2 S’s: when people are embarrassed they get really red feel so stupid. And you were like, ahhh, I see what you did there. Not bad, Mrs. Cameron. Not bad.

I’d be willing to bet our dear Cobra Katie has a memory just like this, but she only has one memory of actually being embarrassed; and it didn’t happen in a spelling bee or in a school cafeteria. It happened, like, 6 months ago while we were knee-deep in the production of Nights in UltraViolet. At the age of 28, Katie Henner, dweller of NYC and London, master theatre producer, genius writer & sometimes burlesque-dancer, felt embarrassed for the first time ever.

I’ve been taking photos and tweeting up a storm about the #OccupyWallStreet protest down in the Financial District for class in my graduate journalism program. The protests have been going on since September 17th and as far as I can tell this sustained overnight occupation is first of its kind in Lower Manhattan.

The good folks (hiii Bokeen and Miz Chartreuse) of Consumption Junction got in touch and interviewed me for their show about the protests to get a reporters take on it. Check out the podcast.
