The Cobra Editing School turned into a love nest as we continued to edit the footage from our first Cobra Den Invitational, with Wakey!Wakey!, through Valentine’s Day weekend. Knowing the way to our hearts is through our stomachs, Jables cooked up a special Love Brunch and Eric baked homemade chocolate chip cookies. Luke & Jackie made a trek to Nablus Sweets & Pastries in Bay Ridge, just to bring us some delicious kunafa. Thanks to everyone who kept us extraordinarily well-fed! <3

This February, 12 filmmakers, journalists, playwrights, actors, and friends will be taking to the railways to shoot a collaborative, verite-style Train Movie. Armed with basic character sketches and interactions, we’ll attempt to create a work that blends reality and narrative to explore the American landscape, the unique nature of train travel in the digital age, and the relationships that can develop between travelers.

Created, improvised and shot in one 36-hour whirlwind ride across middle America.

Won’t you be a part of the experiment?

In collaboration with Meerkat Media.

This was our first experiment with a Canon 7D shot with a 50mm 1.4. Footage shot and edited by The Jackal. Video features the lovely Liz Brown & stunning Katie Henner, who helped sell the pâté at the Greenpoint Food Market.

Thanks for the song, Devendra Banhart! You get infinite amounts of Cobra Pâté. All you have to do is ask chefjables@goddamncobras.com.

We shot this in 90 minutes as the sun sunk below the horizon. There were new friends and an old friend who was about to leave us for the greener pastures of Alaska. There were sandwiches and an impromptu picnic. There were photos and undocumented dance parties.

We get a lot of shit about being fucking hipsters but a lot of love about what fun it all looked like. I’m not convinced we’re fucking hipsters but I can assure you it was just as much fun as it looked.
